Barbara Brown Buggs

Barbara Brown Buggs was born January 14, 1958, in Barnwell, SC. She went home with the Lord on Saturday, June 13, 2026. She was the third oldest child born to Edgar and Eunice Gill Brown, both preceding her in death. She graduated from Barnwell High School in 1976 with the specialty training of a Certified Nursing Assistant. She was employed at Barnwell County Hospital for many years before moving to Allied Air Enterprises, where she remained until she retired. After retirement, she continued her love for children by becoming the loving caregiver to many children of family and friends. Barbara was blessed with many talents and skills, and she used her love for music and her talented voice to bless many others in her church, Brown’s Chapel Baptist Church, and as a long-time member of the Jerry Mack and the Blues Brothers Band. She was married to Lewis Calvin Buggs, Sr., who preceded her in death, and from this union two children were born. On Sunday, May 10, 2026 (Mother’s Day), Barbara received the best gift ever when she rededicated her life to Christ. On Saturday, June 13, 2026, Barbara answered the call to her Lord and Savior and went home to glory. Preceding her in death are her parents, Edgar Brown, Sr. and Eunice Evelyn Gill Brown. She is survived by her children, Joi Gordon, LC Buggs, Jr. of Barnwell, SC, Cherie Buggs (Kelvin Creech) of Aiken, SC, and Isys Odom of Barnwell, SC; two grandsons, Josiah Williams of Aiken, SC, and Dillon Creech of Aiken, SC; seven siblings: Ron Brown (Robin) of Barnwell, SC, Annette Felder (Harry) of Barnwell, SC, Joyce Heyward of Barnwell, SC, Edie Dailey (Keith) of Columbia, SC, Edgar Brown, Jr. of Barnwell, SC, JB Brown (Marie) of Columbia, SC, and Sharon Brown of Columbia, SC; three paternal aunts, Viola Stewart (Roy) of Delaware, Polly Brown of Bronx, NY, and Adelle Bell of Bronx, NY; one paternal uncle, Bezelee Brown (Alberta) of Queens, NY; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends dear to her heart. In keeping with her wishes, she will be cremated. A repast is not scheduled. Cards should be forwarded to LC Buggs, Jr. The family appreciates the love, prayers, and support shown during this difficult time.
